This year, Chinese New Year is on 23 January 2012. This Chinese New year, I didn’t go back to hometown, Perak. I ate the 红槽鸡面线 (red glutinous wine ginger chicken). It is a traditional dish in my hometown, Ayer Tawar, Perak. The soup is made up of Hong Zao wine, thin strips of ginger and chickens. The soup is mixed with mee suah or wheat vermicelli.
